McDonald Construction is proud to be part of the construction team
at the Iowa Speedway. We were a subcontractor
to both Neumann Brothers and Manatt’s. For Neumann, we constructed all of the infield
pre-engineered steel buildings and floors. This got especially
interesting when one of the buildings was completed then had to be moved
to another location in the infield due to visibility of the track. Our
role with Manatt’s included building the concrete walls as well
as installing various concrete flat work throughout the Speedway site. One
of our favorite walls (chicane wall on turn two) with its “S” curves
was quite impressive; unfortunately that wall was removed in part of
a redesign.
We’re very excited about the Iowa Speedway and what it brings
to central Iowa.
